Hello Humans!

Hello Humans! My name is Bailey Tucker, I am the blog operator and creator. This is me, awkward camera selfie. That was day one of working on my first prop.
First here is a little back story about myself, gather around. I am a cosplayer, for those of you who don't know what that is, a cosplayer is a person who dresses up as a character from a movie, book, T.V show, video game, comic book, anime or original character. I have cosplayed as Captain Hammer from "Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog", Lara Croft from "Tomb Raider" the 2013 video game, and Dean Winchester from "Supernatural". I enjoy dressing as and acting like somebody I'm not, maybe one day I'll be an actor! Anyway, one of the things I love most about cosplay is the creation of the costume, especially the props/accessories. Such as, for Lara Croft I needed a snow/pry axe, a handgun, a shotgun, a bow, and a quiver full of arrows. Sadly I forgot to take pictures of the construction of the pry axe, quiver, and arrows. The rest of my equipment I bought and redesigned and repainted. So I don't have much experience with building props as I do with revamping them.

Little back story about Master of Props, in order to graduate high school, I must complete the Capstone Project, a senior research project. The topic I chose was "Designing and Constructing Props for a Blog", this is one of the many career fields I have considered in my vast lifetime. I have a Mentor that will guide me through my project, he has worked as prop designer for many large companies, he even has a life size Stitch resting beside his pool!  Now for the juicy details, for this project to work I have to actually construct four replica props, the following, Captain America's Shield, Thor's Hammer, an Arc Reactor, and a dancing baby Groot. If you can't tell, I'm a bit of a Marvel nerd.

Well, that's it for introductions. I hope you all enjoy my tutorials and stories of designing and constructing my selected props.
